Cannot insert background image or music into dvd menu.

Hello,

I have a Laptop with Ulead dvd moviefactory 5 for Toshiba installed.

Have updated it to the current version from the Toshiba Website.

When I try to insert a background image (jpg) (40kb) in my dvd menu it says cannot insert the file to the background image. Also when adding music to the menu I get the message unable to open file ..... file format mismatch. The file is mp3.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What are the dimensions of the jpg image?
Try converting the mp3 to WAV - a good FREE program to do this is
Audacity

Jpg image is 1024 x 768

Converted mp3 to wav and it worked, thanks.

Also tryed jpeg image that was 240 x 260 which did not work either.

Just tried a gif image and it worked.

Also tried to make a slideshow project and Moviefactory recognised
the gif but not a jpeg.

I had all formats selected.
