unspecified error message when creating a disc v.11
Sorry to be so negative but v. 10 was doing fine and then I had to upgrade to V. 11 and now problems. I am creating a disc in V. 11, something I have done numerous times under v. 10. During the process I get "unspecified error". I have searched the forum and found others that get the same problem. I tried those suggestions, namely create a video file first. I tried that and got another error "unable to load library". Why does "new and improved" have to mean "sorry I did"? Can anyone help?

This has happened for me as well. I had VidStud 10 Plus on my old computer. Just recently got a new computer, installed VidStud 11 Plus, tried to burn my first disc, and got that "unspecified error" message as well. Tried different .mpg files, tried a .VSP, same "unspecified error".
I'm starting to wonder just how buggy VS11 is, actually, because I keep having all kinds of problems with it--which I'll post elsewhere. Just wanted to chime in that I'm having this same problem as well.

I too had this error, with the burn seeming to go on forever. Found that it was the idiotic smart touch of the animated fade in or out of the menu to the video. If you look on the editing page of the menu, the fade in is usually disabled, and the fade out has one of the presets used. And it is this which caused the problem for me. As soon as I disabled it, the disc burned well and well within the time limits for such a burn. And I never wanted the animation in the first place!!!

Ken: Thanks for the info. I will try that and see if it helps.
However, I can't help but think--what if you *wanted* the fade out enabled? I mean, if you have to disable fade out in the menu to get the thing to work, doesn't that mean there is a problem with VideoStudio 11? Or am I just not understanding that correctly?
Thanks again.

That just goes to show you how finicky computers/VideoStudio can be. I've use the menu fade in/fade out quite often and don't have problems.

Black Lab: I have been using VideoStudio since version 7, and haven't ever had this particular problem before--I didn't have any problems with it on V. 10, which is (I think) when that feature was introduced. I'm curious to know if you use menu fade in/fade out with V. 11 and aren't having problems with it--or are you using an older program?
But yeah, I totally understand what you're saying about finicky computers and computer programs.
