When I get the window 'open video file' and I click on the video file that I want to add The program hangs up.
I just added 1000 MB of memory so it's not lack of memory causing this.
I can burn the videos using the DivX player.

What format is the file you're trying to open???? The Read This First post at the top of the forum tells you what we need to know, in order to help you.
If you are trying to open a DivX file, that's the source of your problems. The highly-compressed formats tend to cause lots of trouble. You may need to convert the file (with a 3rd-party program) before opening it in Movie Factory. Or, you may need a special (DivX?) program instead of Movie Factory...
