It's easy.

Insert your video with sound in the timeline. If the video has sound then the "Split Audio" becomes highlighted. Click it.

Then click on Share tab click on "Create Sound File" and choose one of the options and a location for where the file should go.

You can also click on the "options" when the pop up box comes up for more options.

You probably don;t even have to split the audio from the movie (I haven't tried that as I tend to split audio all the time anyway)

You shouldn't even have to split the audio, the selection is still on the last screen. But creating a MP3 can be somewhat tricky. Can be done though.

Creating an mp3 file

Post by Ken Veal »

AS far as I know you should be able to export an mp3 file from a free programme called Audacity providing you download a separate mp3 encoder as it does not encode mp3 files directly.

A simple (free) tool like AoA Audio Extractor will do it in one step. I don't trust its AC3 encoder (or any of the other free ones for that matter), but the .wav and .mp3 ones are very good.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. Some free tools, like Audacity and the LAME mp3 codec, are great, and very trustworthy. My comments were purely in regards to free AC3 codecs. They usually use reverse engineered 'hacks' like ffmpeg or besweet, which can cause problems with high end (namely Pioneer) DVD players.
