MSP not starting

Hi, strange issue I'm having. I downloaded the trial version of MSP 8.0 from the website. Installed it. When I try to run the editor, my mouse arrow changes to an hourglass for about 6 seconds and then goes back to an arrow and the program doesn't start. If I go into task manager, I see a process titled veditor.dat with a size of close to 20,000 K of memory usage. Am I missing something. I like to think I know my way around a computer but this one has me stumped. Would there be a driver conflict that would prevent the program from loading? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Are you logged onto XP with administrator privileges?
