Problem with DVD writing in VS 10

Post by Good_Devil »

Hi all . I have a problem with VideoStudio 10 - I can't burn CDs/DVDs . The reason is that the program can't find my recording device :

I can't select it , and I have a DVD / CD recorder - LG , HL-DT-ST DVDRAM . Other programs like Nero and even WIndows Media Player recognize it , but VS 10 can't select it  Please help :(

Do you have Nero InCd installed?
If you do uninstall it from the Add/Remove programs window in Windows. It has a habit of forcefully seizing control of the burner at start up and not letting anyone else play with it. It has kind of anti-social imperialist tendencies.

Do you have a full version of VS10 or did it come bundled with some other hardware device like a video camera or capture card?
I am wondering if it is an SE version which may have limited capabilities.

Also have you tried the same procedure with a disc in the drive and still no drive detection?

Finally if none of the above, have you tried a re-install or repair install of VS10 after having uninstalled InCd as that may get VS to now detect the drive.

Great!

Please post what actually "did it!" That way others can learn from your experience.

Actually , a friend of mine has Video Studio 11 Plus so he gave me his CD and I installed it but I decided to keep my version (10) n my PC . So , when I installed VS 11 I tried if it will recognize my recorder and it did . So , I opened VS 10 and tried to Burn a CD - this time it recognized my recorder . So I think that when I installed VS 11 it installed some files or something which helped VS 10 to recognize the recorder , too :D
