problem with vs 11+ share same as frist video clip

Hello:
I have a problem, i capture a video from vhs to mpg, and edit with vs11+, and i dont no how some time when i choose "share/same as frist video clip" the render work very fast and some time is very slow, i dont understand
When only cut some part of mpg, and choose "share/ as frist video clip", the vs11 no render? its that correct?

Are you trying to make a DVD or for something else?

Nop i dont try make a DVD, because i capture in format mpg, and then edit with the video studio 11, and then make the dvd With DVD Work shop, but really i dont now how the option same frist video clip in VS11 some times work and sometimes render again all the video, and only when edit the mpg i only create a few cuts
