I have DVD Movie Factory 6 plus, and tonight I bought the HD bonus pack. I wanted the bonus pack to burn HDV (Canon HV10) to HD DVD format using normal DVD media.
I have an Xbox 360 HD DVD drive hooked up to my HTPC. The movies play (using PowerDVD, HD DVD version), but I have no sound. The HTPC is hooked up to my Onkyo receiver via spdif. I have no issues playing normal HD DVD's movies, sound works, all is great. I just have no sound with the HD DVD's burnt to DVD using DVD Movie Factory 6 plus.
Another issue, if I hook the HD DVD drive up to my Xbox 360, and select "Play HD DVD", the screen goes blank, and basically locks up my 360. I burned 3 different HD DVD's onto DVD, and all failed to have audio, and wouldn't play on the 360 all-together.
I am more concerned with the no sound issue, but would like to resolve both issues.
I am using a DVD+R blank for the media.
Any help is appreciated.
Help with no audio on HD DVD burnt to DVD

After you capture from the HV20 the sound is in mpeg audio format.
MF converts this to the audio settings you have set for your 'Project Settings' GEAR icon. Change this to Dolby 2/0 or 5.1 Audio, also make sure the other project settings are correct for the specs of your hdv file (upper field first, 1440 etc).
.
Some on my conversions from mpeg to lpcm audio is being dropped out. The mpeg to dolby conversions work. When you play the hd-dvd on the computer as the hd-dvd is playing using powerdvd right_click on the PDVD player window & select "Show Information", you will probably see only video information because the audio information may not be there.
