Missing sound parts on final DVD

Post by jeanluc00420 »

Hi,

I¡¦ll try to explain very quickly what my actual problems are. I saved a complete DVD structure (vob and ifo files) from several small DVDs filmed by borrowed camcorder to my hard drive. Thereafter I made the entire movie composition in Ulead VS 10.0 (actually I¡¦m running a trial version only).
The first problem is that after re-opening any saved project in VSP format this one becomes a complete mess without any resemblance to previously saved structure (same clips appear several times in timeline view, time durations are completely different etc¡K). It means all work is lost and I have to begin to compose the entire project again!

Second problem is that I can¡¦t find any possibility to save customised main menus and submenus I create just before DVD burn without using some kind of menu template creator.

Actually after several hours spent in front of my computer I prepared a complete DVD with menus, chapters, photo sections etc¡K.. but for some unexplainable reason there¡¦s no sound when playing two chapters (the sound is perfectly audible on the original files)! It means that the only solution for me to fix it is to restart the entire work (clips and effect adding, trimming, all DVD menu customisations retouching¡K) and hope that there¡¦s no bug at the end like before! The entire DVD is exactly like I imagine it should be, except this sound problem.

Is there any possibility to repair this DVD (add missing soundtracks) without repeating all those wearing actions? Do you have any suggestions for the first and the second problem?

Thanks a lot!

First of all, read this and give us as much info as possible: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8959

Sometimes problems like this crop up when you go to Share > Create Disc with your project still in the timeline. Here on the board we recommend following the Suggested Workflow. To put it as simply as possible, after you are finished editing you will then go to Share > Create Video File where you will create a DVD-compatible MPEG2 file. You will then clear the timeline (choosing File > New Project is the easiest way) then go to Share > Create Disc. At that point you will insert your newly created MPEG2 file for burning.

As for saving your menu/chapters, after you have created them close out of the burner module. It will give you a message that it is saving. (IGNORE that message, because it's not really saving the menu/chapters.) That will bring you back to an empty timeline (if you are following the Suggested Workflow). Now save your "project" (give it a different name than your "main" project, or you'll overwrite it). What you are essentially saving at this point is your menu/chapters. When you re-open that project and go to Share > Create Disc everything should be as you left it.
