One of the things I have noticed in 11 vs 10 is a lot of transition are missing in 11. The 10 ver. has more. As far as a update is concerned, 11 to me is just a simple update to work with Vista and XP. I might be looking at this wrong, but for what little bit of change I saw ya might as well have stuck with 10 with the update. To many members are complaining about the money they wasted for 11 and I agree with them. They all can't be wrong

But what about someone who's buying the software for the first time? Would you recommend buying 10 rather than 11+?

Actually, I'm not so concerned with many of the transitions and effects because I am inclined toward a more subdued editing style. I would like to see more smooth, subtle transitions.

What is the other program that you are comparing Ulead too?

Hi,

I compared with Magix Movie Maker deluxe 3, and Movie Edit Pro 12. I can tried every function correctly.

I haven't posted in a while..haven't had much time to do any video work but I'm just trying my first project in VS 11 and so far I'm impressed. I'm no where being done but the capture went smooth and the editing seems to be more responsive then 10 was on my Vista machine. I also found a few key features that I'm loving because I'm no longer tied to VS's workflow it seems. I can finally cut video and not lose my neighboring transitions! I can also cut video in the overlay track! Woooooooot!

I'll report back anything I find postive or negative as I work through it.

*Edit*
I finally have been rewarded for my 22" screen! I can now see all the overlay tracks in the timeline! Nice, nice, nice work my friends.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

Hi there, I'm new here but wanted to say I bought the upgrade. I love it, I used the trial version on a few old videos I had, and I don't know what they did, but in 11 plus my clips are coming out sharper, cleaner, and with the new overlays it's like night and day with the quality of the output.
I guess I am just easy to please, but so far I feel the upgrade is worth it. :D

Anyone had this error or should I ask somewhere else :D

Comes with an "Unspecified Error"..........along the side on a "05"???

As suggested by Jeff (Black Lab) I have split these posts from the original thread.

I often think similar things when I first see an updated piece of software or a new operating system such as from Windows 95 to 98 ( yes I hear those gasps) but what I mean is that at first you don't notice many changes.
However..... when you later return to the earlier item you suddenly notice things are missing the new things are not always obvious until they are no longer there.
