Videostudio 9 Manual Downloadable

Post by THoff »

If, like me, you are waiting for the boxed version of Videostudio 9 to arrive, you can at least read the new manual, which is downloadable here:

Kudos to Ulead for again making the manual downloadable in PDF form!

Torsten,
I see that the VS9 manual download is 152 MB vs. only 10.5 MB for VS8. Is the manual also fifteen times better?

I think thats a boo-boo on the site. Its actually only 9.2mb's compressed or 10.2 uncompressed.

Yep, the download is really just 9.5 MB.

Page 75 lists something we have all wished for: Ripple editing, which preserves the relative positions of video with text and audio tracks when inserting or deleting video clips in the timeline. I hope it also works smoothly when changing the length of a clip...

Also note a "Stretch Audio" feature, which is supposed to change the duration of a sound clip without changing the tone (p 118).

There is also a "Fit and Burn" feature (p 136) on the last window of the Burn module that is supposed to shrink the burn project to fit the DVD space available.

I am most concerned that the great default properties train wreck is fixed. I am not optimistic because the Create Disk window still shows the tiny, almost imperceptible gear shaped icon located second from the left on the bottom of the window, that is so crucial is controlling the Burn properties. IMHO, this one badly designed item has resulted in the creation of a huge quantity of beer coasters by new users.

Speaking of train wrecks, is anyone who got the ESD version of V9 willing to reset their clocks for a quick test of the DST handling?
