sorry
My question in the other area was slightly off topic so after I wrote it, I realized it needed its own topic.
For you and others the answer is No, not correctly, you can capture and edit but it will not be correct.I am interested in getting the hv20 to video in film mode...24p But will I be able to edit my video? looks like people have had problems. will I?
You will also have problems trying to get what Canon says is true 1920x1080 from the cam. It's firewire interface uses HDV video which is 1440x1080i.
There is alot of information on the Canon HV20 and this subject. The cam is supposedly records excellent HighDefintion Video.
I went with a Sony HC3 because of it's internal features such as hardware downconverting to Standard Definiton, some other features and it's mechanically built very well.
