DVD PictureShow 3 can't get arrows to work on playing

Following a good burning of the DVD I can't get the arrow keys to work, only to jump between the chapters.

I see you say the Windows XP Media Center won't work good. When I bought my new Gateway computer a year ago I specifically said I didn't want the Media Center but rather just wanted to be able to work with digital photos and slideshows. Best Buy geeks assured me it was fine and I just didn't need to use it. Appears as if it is causing me problems. I see I have a Pentium D 805 processor and the specs for the PictureShow 3 say a Pentium 4 HT works best. Is my Pentium D slower and more obsolete than the 4?

Any suggestions to help.
