Help with Audio Capture

Post by Chilly »

I recently decided to copy my DV movies to DVD. I purchased Dazzle DVD Recorder. I didn't like the software that was included (Pinnacle). I have downloaded a few programs to try out.

I came across ULEAD VideoStudio and really like the layout but I can not seem to capture audio with the video. I selected the composite connection for the video. The only option for audio is PCI audio and cannot change that to Dazzle for the audio capture.

Any suggestions? I would like to purchase but need to ensure it will work with my set up. I like what I see in the software so far.

Thankx in advance

Test it with PCI Audio setting.

Just do a small sample and export as a DVD compatible video file (mpeg2). Don;t burn to DVD just yet (thought you could if you don;t mind using a DVD disc) and see what happens.

Let us know.

Pinnacle is notorious ... uh, 'well known' ... for making hardware which only works properly with their own proprietary software, in this case the Pinnacle software which came with your recorder. So you may be stuck with capturing your video with that and if you still want, opening it in Video Studio for editing.

I think it is safe to go with "notorious" here Ken!

I was afraid of that. I am able to return the product. Is there a better device then Dazzle, that I would be able use coral products to capture video?

Sorry I am new to this :-)
