Babdi...I don't have any anti-spam or anti virus installed at all. But I'm also very careful of where I download stuff from and which e-mails I open etc.

I still have 30 processes running in the background and I don;t have hardly any problems with VS11+

You're PC specs are better than mine. Except I have a larger HD and I use WInXP pro.

Before starting VS11 is re-start my PC to clear cache and temp files etc.

I'm pretty sure you mentioned that your original video from your mobile phone was 320x240. Anyway we'll soon find out when you right click your AVI video.

We WILL sort you out and get you all running smoothly and happily! :)

Can anyone tell me as to which format is VSP 11+ comfortable with.
I would precisely like to know :
video format viz., WMV,AVI,MPEG etc.
Encoder
Data rate bits per second
Audio format
Audio bit rate
Audio frequency

Setting these parameters may help me set the video convertor while I am converting a MP4

Thanks

I dont remember having said about 320x240. 'cause my phone shoots at 640x480 in full mode and yes I have an option shoot at lower sizes with 15 frames per sec. I have it like this
TV high ( 30 fps )
TV normal ( 15 fps )
Handset high ( 30 fps )
Handset normal (15 fps )
MMS.
Anyway thank you for the input.

I see a point. Do all the guys who use VSP do this ? Or is it an exception in my case; I will try nevertheless.

Thank you

Babdi

As far as I can tell, everyone in his correct mindset would do that.

My video editing machine doesn't even have a modem and is not even networked with my internet PC  Hence I do not have to run any AV or AntiSpyware because this PC can't get infected without me making a mistake and accessing infected data on a CD/DVD or Memory Stick.

Let me get this straight, you don't have any AV/AS running but you connect to the internet???

If that's the case, do you at least have a decent fire wall?

Just recently I read somewhere that in this day and age, any unprotected PC, connected to the internet will be infected with trojans and spyware within a time span of 10 to 15 minutes max. You don't need to be doing any surfing, the nasties will find you automatically.

Yep... no AV/AS. Trojans and virus are installed by the user, usually by being tricked into it. I'm very careful! If a virus gets to me it's because no AV software in the world would have detected it anyway. Those virus writers are pretty much ahead of any AV detector software.

I do have a firewall but nothing particularly special about it. I came with the modem.

Once every couple of months I'll run a checker that doesn;t work in the background and generally I find 1 tracker cookie which is easily delt with.

Having no anti spam or anti virus is a bit like "amber gambling" at a set of traffic lights. Most of the time you will get away with it but you only need one collision to get yourself killed.

At my workplace almost all of our computers are now networked plus our network is connected to the internet. If I can however step back in time a few years I do recall a few occasions when a stand alone computer became affected by a virus. What would happen is that workers would bring files in by way of a floppy disc. The viruses would be hidden in files on those floppies.

The moral of this story is that you can get a virus even when you have no internet connection. Therefore I do not think I need go into detail about the likelihood of picking up a virus when you have a computer that is connected to the internet - no matter how careful YOU are. Does anyone else have access to your computer?

Viruses can be hidden in almost anything ranging from a Word Document to a simple web page. Even simply viewing this page that you are reading now is placing your computer at risk. A year ago this very forum was attacked by a virus and was "off air" for almost a month until the server was wiped clean and everything re-installed from back up copies.

Whilst I myself have been lucky, I know of several workmates - some who are highly I.T. minded - who have been hit by a virus that effectively reduced their computers into a simple metal dustbin.

As I have mentioned before.... you are still editing mpeg4 with an odd frame rate of 26.475 Which means it's neither PAL or NTSC the way I understand it.

Also the stated compression is not something I am familar with.

I don;t know what else to say other than you are making editing difficult for yourself and resources will be stretched to the limit.

I don;t know what else to suggest other than buying a nice camcorder to shoot your videos with. Considering you like to shoot video quite a lot.

I know I know...they are bulky and not easy to carry around but some of them a very small these days.

Do I assume that you missed my post on video attributes where the video I edit is not a MP4 file . It is an AVI. Please read all the attributes.
Anyway thanks for trying to help

Cheers

What type of AVI?
AVI is just a wrapper and as a term is prety well meaningless. There is DV AVI, MPEG4 shown as AVI, Uncompressed AVI the list goes on.
The way you have presented the data in your post is very difficult to understand.
Just right click on one of the files within VS and post those properties.
