Anybody downloaded lately the trial version and it works for him ok?
For me it doesn't work properly and it gets stucked for the last 3 months and it is very frustrating.
Anybody knows about a certain problem with the tbyb version?
i cannot get support as i'm not yet a client and on the other hand if i do not see that the trial version works for me than it won't be smart to buy the full version.
your help will be much appreciated.

The full version worked fine
I also had trouble with the TBYB.
I actually bought it, anyway, and was stuck for a few days with a PAID TBYB version which did not work very well.
I tried getting e-mal support without real success.
Finally, I made a phone call to the support dept and they linkde me to a site where i was able to download the full version.
Everything is working fine, now (after I also installed the free patch).

After i complete preparing a project and i start "burn" it can work for about an hour and a half and than it either stuck or prompts with "unspecified error" and never complete the burn process.DVDDoug wrote:What? For me it doesn't work properly and it gets stucked
You can't download? Or does it get stuck when you try to use it? We need some more details.

enough disk space?
This has happened to me a couple of times, with previous versions of MF. Also once, with MF6.
Each time, it was due to the fact that there was not enough free space on my hard drive.
You should make sure to have at least 3 times the size of your project as free space, on your hard drive.
It might also be due to a problem with your burner or blank disk.
You shoud try burning your project into an image (.iso), first. That would eliminate the burner or blank disk error possibility.
If this works, then you can burn this image on your blank DVD disk. This final step will take less than 10 minutes (depending on your burner speed) and your image wil still be saved for other burnings.

It is very strange as i installed the TBYB on 2 different powerful pc and the results are the same:
1)There is no problem of free space.
2)i know what you mean about the burner because in some cases i noticed that it finished making the DVD files(very close to the 100% of the project) it gut stocked-but it only happened 1 time and know it get stocked around 40% of the whole progress in 2 different computers so we have to eliminate the burner idea as it does not reach it at all.
1 more important fact is when i test the whole process by minimizing the project from around 1 hour to 1 minute - it completes successfully(again no burner issue).Something happens when the project becomes complicate and long, and again, with 2 different pc : processors 1 core,2 core, ram 0.5 giga & 1 giga - its really puzzling...and frustrating
All the above mentioned is after trying complete format and reinstall both win xp and TBYB.

another try
Hi,
I remember that I had problems similar to yours, last year, with a previous version of Movie Factory (MF4). I found out, in the end, that my computer was over heating and stopped processing the job before it was finished. That is probably not your case, because you tried on two different computers.
Don't get discouraged. I am sure that some of the experts on this site will come out with an explanation to your problems. I have a 4 year experience editing and burning videos (especially long ones), but I am not a technician.
The only thing that I am sure of is that the full version of MF6 works well. Of course, I had to familiarize myself with all the menu options before being completely satisfied.
The last video I burned was almost 2 hours long. So, it is not a matter of length. After saving it into an image (.iso), I used DVD shrink to compress it to fit it on a 4.7GB disk.
It may be that there is a problem with one of your original files. I would suggest to shorten each different video file to make sure that none of them is corrupted. (one very short file for each of your videos).
I never went as far as burning with the TBYB version. I only know that the full version 6 is worrking very well. With the TBYB, I only tested making the menus and editing different videos files. I was disappointed by the limited choice and that is why I bought the full version.

After about an hour of processing (on very long videos), the program may seem to be stalled, but it is'nt. It can stay at the same meter level for, maybe, half an hour, then it will continue.
Are you sure you did'nt get discouraged before the job has really ended?
I may take up to twice the length of your project to process it ( one hourDVD = more than 2 hours of processing). This can depend of many factors, as for instance, the complexity of your menus.
Again, these are only suggestions.
I am really convinced that the MF6 (full version) works. All the problems I had with this version (and previous) were due to my inexperience or my computer hardware.

Have you tried making an ISO file (or DVD folders) on your hard drive, as Pierre suggested? If you can't do this you have a re-coding / rendering problem.it gut stocked-but it only happened 1 time and know it get stocked around 40% of the whole progress in 2 different computers so we have to eliminate the burner idea as it does not reach it at all.
That usually means Movie Factory can't decode your original file(s). You didn't say what format your original files are. The more compressed formats cause the most trouble. People who use DivX and Xvid (or other MPEG-4 variations) seem to have lots of trouble! If this is the case, you may need to convert the file to MPEG-2 with a 3rd-party program.
If you are able to make an ISO file (or DVD folders) on you hard drive, then most-likely you have a conflict with some other burning software. "Drag & Drop" programs like Nero InCD can "take over" your drive and block other programs. If this is the case, you can use your other software to burn the ISO file to an actual DVD disc.

Hi,
i agree that i have a rendering problem as i cant make DVD folders-it stucks and do not complete the DVD file.
you've asked about the format of the original files - it is the original file of the TBYB program i.e. the source is Sony hc 48 mini dv which i capture via the TBYB DMF6 by fire wire card with the best quality there is of video & audio i.e. HQ and Dolby digital. About 60-70 minute long.
