Chopping Big File Into Smaller Files

I've captured 60 mins worth of video and want to chop them down into smaller chapters (i.e., birthday party, gardening, etc) and then be able to put together a disc where you get that main menu that lets you select the particular chapter you want. How is that done?

Any help would be great, thanks.

so you want the full works from capturing through editing to authoring to burning a DVD.

Have you read the manual - if you downloaded your copy of UVS you can download the manual from here :-

and followed the procedure AND visited all the useful sites there.

Try that first and then come back if you have specific questions about any particular stage.

Thanks for your help, Bryan. I had already gone through a couple of the tutorials and while there was a lot of information on merging a bunch of little clips into one big one, I couldn't find anything on the opposite. I'll check out your links. Thanks!
