Videostudio 11 Security Problem

Post by sledgeka »

Hi;

I having problems with VS 11 everytime I boot windows XP I get a error message saying The Security Information is invalid or has been modified, program will terminated" I have been looking around at other sites regarding this problem and here at this forum . I noticed other users have had this problem and tried a few different remedies which i have tried also to no luck. Videostudio Pro 11 will not open at all!

It was recommended to uninstall the program and then reinstall which I tried but still get the error message. Apparently the software has a known bug which clashes with XP service Pack 2 in which i have read on this forum?.

I tried other methods such as misconfig the videostudio security file with VS 11 as others suggested elsewhere and deleting the registry entry but the problem still remains.

Has Anyone have any other workarounds I could try? It also happened to Videostudio 7
I was using that's why I upgraded to 11 to help get rid this known bug but to no avail.

Getting frustrated over the matter. please Help? I have tried VS FAQ but no help

Very well could be several layers back on Windows Media Player updates that could be the culprit. I had a different problem, but rolled back the player a couple versions and everything fixed. However, after doing that, I went directly for the latest player, not the updates, and everything still works. (In a day or so, I can identify the exact update number that was the problem, or you could too buy doing a google on the player..) I have v11..

OK would it be better to just uninstall WMP and if that's not the problem I could just reinstall the latest player? Can anyone else offer any other solutions?

Actually, that is what I had to do, uninstall the older version and install the newer version. It is a pain to do, and I can't even remember what it was that allowed me to do it. But, search for in either google or yahoo.

Just applying the latest version does not help.

Also, remember, this very well may not be the solution to the problem, just that I have a sneaky feeling it is.

The error is normally associated with attempts to circumvent program registration.

Such as when the 30 days have expired and a user attempts to extend the trial period or attempts to convert a trial version by unscrupulous means into a full version.

It can also be caused by a user doing some inadvertent innocent act such as changing the computers date - one method attempted by unscrupulous users (which will not work by the way).

If you are an innocent unfortunate victim of the security measures that the software company have been forced to implement due to those undesirable elements of society then you will either have to
a. Reformat your hard drive and re-install the operating system
b. Wait for a new version of VideoStudio to be released and download its free trial.
c. Purchase the software - there is a 30 day money back guarantee.
