Capturing movie

Post by girly »

I have a new pc with Vista premium and have installed the patch for VS10 and the program works ok. When I try to capture a movie using the 1394 firewire the program doesn't recognise my camcorder (Sharp) which worked ok on my old XP machine.

I can capture movies through Windows Movie Maker ok.

Any help appreciated.

And where did the movie come from? Is it on a VCR and you are trying to capture it using the Sharp as a pass-through device to convert the analogue movie to digitial via Firewire?

Camcorder is Sharp model VL-Z5H and the film was taken with the camcorder but when it came to trying to capture VS10 didn't pick up the firewire. It only recognised Hauppauge WinTV-HVR67xxCapture device which I've never used as have only just got this new pc. This used to work ok with xp and VS10.

I tried to caputure with MM and it worked ok.

I disabled the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR67xxCapture device and now my camcorder is recognised.
