The subject says it all: When I try to play back in the 'Project' mode I get horizontal lines just like when you lose horizontal sync on a TV. When I play back in the 'Clip' mode I get a perfectly good playback.
Any ideas? BTW I am a newbie to this program.
Thanks up front,

MS AVI - open DML
framerate 30
data rate 27010.77
video compression mjpeg
24 bits 640x480
audio comp- PCM
11* 8 bit mono
This is properties on all clips.
I don't know how to get project properties.
All clips play fine separately, but when I click on project it plays as I described with no horizontal sync...

Did you install any of the software which came with the camera, and more specifically any video-related software that may have been on the CD? I am thinking specifically of the MJPEG codec which is required in order for your computer to be able to "see" the video from the camera properly. Normally MJPEG video is very good quality, but it requires that specific codec which is not normally installed on any computer these days...
You need also to be aware that 640 x 480 is not part of the international DVD standard, so it will need to be converted to a standard frame size (720 x 480 for NTSC) if you intend to burn it to DVD. This will in any case happen since the MJPEG .avi has to be converted to DVD-compatible mpeg-2.
Can you tell us you you actually transferred the video to your computer. Did you use VS for this, or some other software?
