Thanks Heinz & Ken :D

I can see the firewire port on the back of my computer, so now I need to get the firewire itself. If I search for a 3 IEEE 1394 firewire, would the VS 7 sort itself out? or would I still need to reinstall it all again?

You need an IEEE1394 (note: there is no 3 in front  ) cable with the right plugs on each end to suit your camera and PC sockets. Once you plug in the cables and switch on the camera, XP should recognize the camera and install all required drivers. There may still be some settings to be modified in the capture module of VS but generally it should work as is.

Thanks Heinz :D

What size would the plug be that goes into my computer from the information you have found? Would there be a specific order code for the fire wire or are they all different?

4 to 6 pin cables are all designed the same but vary in quality. Don;t buy the cheapest one you find.

The only other variety is 6 to 6 pin cables...don;t get this one.

These cables are all available at department stores, Electronics stores or where ever computers are sold
