well i have P2.4 GHz and alot of space left on harddrive and have 512 meg ram and running XP... ok so now that's out of the way...
so i have like 24 little mini dvds (that run perfectly directly onto dvd player) but then when i edit them and try to make a movie out of them what happens is i get as far as burnig them onto dvd but when i play the new dvd in a player it skips and jumps terribly... ok so i thought its the burner or disc i used - but then i just rendered my movie to the hard drive and what happens now is the movie kinda doesnt run smoothly - like it tends to speed up in spots and then slow down... all i want to do is make a dvd ... but it always ends up being unplayable and when i burn it to the hard drive it just looks weird.... is this a software problem (ie can it be fixed if i by another product) or is it something else that could be fixed...??????? o yeah and ps - they are widescreen dvds and when i import them and run them back the image only goes into "box mode" and the images looked skinny... anyone know whats going on here either???? ok like i said any feed back would be loved
ulead studio 9 please help in anyway - much appreciated

And are you maintaining the same Field Order throughout the project and burning? I am assuming the mini DVDs use Upper Field First. But the default Project Properties are usually Lower Field First in VS9 if I recall correctly, so this has to be changed to Upper Field First to match the clips.

My comments were directed at the 'playing weird' aspect of your problem. I am not sure about the widescreen aspect -- did you have the program set to 16:9 aspect?
Not being able to read the disc can be caused by a number of things. The higher end, brand name stand-alone players seem to have the most problems with home-made DVDs. Some don't like particular types (+ or - R) or brands of blank discs; some don't like certain types of dye used on the DVD. One way of at least increasing the possibility of a wider variety of players being able to at least see the disc is to burn at a low speed. We normally recommend around 4x even if your DVD is rated to burn at much higher speeds. Some burners might not allow you to go down to 4x, so in those cases use the lowest speed allowed by the burner. Other than that, you might need to experiment with different kinds/brands of disc.
