Hello Forum!
I am an old time Video Studio user (since Version 6) and for the first time in a long time, I have hit a wall and need your great assistance. I am now using VS 11+ and I must say I still love this program, even with some of the past bugs.
My question/problem is that VS 11+ allows me to work on projects fine with very few hiccups or problems; however, every time I close the program, it gives me the infamous "Video Studio Has Encountered..." you know the rest. I have no idea what causes this and wonder if any one here has had a similar or same experience and is there a repair or solution to this. It isn't a huge deal because I am able to work on projects, just want to know how to fix this in case it becomes a bigger deal down the road.
Thanks for any and all responses!

I get this error all the time too. It's so annoying. IN fact VS11+ seems to just crash while working for no reason. MOst of the time I can just restart, but sometimes I have to reboot my computer to restart VS11+.
any advice on this would be helpful.
I recently lost the video filters - I believe it was on a crash. I haven't attempted to reinstate them yet - but I need too. I'm awaiting more advice from the forum on this ( see recent posting VS 11+ lost video filters)
VS11+ seems to be rather unstable. I never had these problems with previous versions.

Thanks for the response. I too have had VS 11+ just shutdown without warning - the good thing is that it will recover the file you were working on when it crashed.
I have always thought this type of crash was due mainly to resource allocations where the CPU is registering nearly 100% usage - probably due to other programs running in the background - I could be wrong, but this doesn't happen as often as the shutdown situation.
I may just need to uninstall and reinstall, but I was hoping for a less drastic solution since I will have to rebuild everything again from scratch. Hope there is a solution.

I sometimes have Photoshop running in the background, and Pinnacle, however, VS11+ crashes way more often than prior versions of Ulead working under the same circumstances. So if VS11+ uses more resources then maybe that is what the issue is.
I don't always have an opportunity to recover my work. Sometime it just crashes - other times it crashes but I can still save. I never use ulead auto save because I like to control the saving. So I just save often.
I did solve the problem with the missing video filters. The advice on the forum was perfect. I think the filters were lost because of a crash, so look out for this.
Good luck.
Best,
Ilene
