I am having an issue with smartsound quicktracks. The insert to timeline has been grayed out. All other functionality of previews and adjustments work, however, I just cannot insert the quicktrack selected item into the timeline. Happens with any format video and stills. It DID work only weeks ago, but stopped working one day.....right around (exactly) the time I installed a new boot drive and reinstalled VS11+. I thought it was a quicktime update that did it, so I rolled back to 7.1. (see below) I saw another post about potentially having to install QT6.5, uninstall, and then install 7.1. (Do I really need to go through that hassle?) Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks much!
After searching all of the forums, I have already completed the following....
- removed and reinstalled VS11+
- DL and inst Windows Install clean up
- DL and inst TempCleaner
- DL and inst Quicktracks for Ulead update 3.0.6.0
- removed most recent version of Quicktime and installed Quicktime version included on disk two of WinDVD8, which turns out to be v 7.1
- rebuilt smartsound libraries
I am WinXP pro SP2, 2 GB ram, Dual core pentium 4 3.0, 2.4 TB of hard drives, video NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS w/ 256MB (trying to give as much as you need upfront here...what am I missing?!)

Finally Resolved
Finally figured out what was going on with the SmartSound application in VS11+. It worked properly with quicktime 6.5.2, but when quicktime would upgrade to 7.0 or above (7.2 current) the quicktracks could not be added to the timeline.
I keep my smartsound library on another (non-boot) drive. Apparently, the newer versions of QT do not like any non-letters or non-numbers in the name of the drive. A had a "/" in the the name of the hard drive and that was enough to throw off QT. So, anybody with quicktime problems, make sure to look in the name of your hard drive for anything but numbers or letters and remove the characters.
