More audio questions?

Post by lostinthewoods »

Hello all.

I'm still having issues with the audio stuff.

Yes, before you ask I've looked through the archives extensively for the answer here but have been unable to find anything. Yes there have been a few entries that are similar but don't really apply to my questions. However, if someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

1.) while working on a video of our kids, I added a sound track from a CD and dragged it down to the music track. While in the editing screen in VS11+ the clip with the music added and the entire program plays with the music too. When I render the project to a dvd I get no music where it should be, but the rest of the audio for the project is fine. From what I've read the problem may be the way the file is transfered from the cd? According to the VS screen it is transfering the file as a wav file, so this leaves me confused.

2.) How does one copy and burn the audio from a AVI file to a cd? Can this be done? I've tried both WAVEPAD and AUDACITY and I can't get it on eather program. Wave pad will not even reconize the audio file and when I move it as a raw file to audacity it will not play it correctly. I tried running it through SWITCH and it will not reconize it either.

Here is how I'm tring to do this.
1. from the edit screen I select "split audio"
2. once that is done I go to the audio editiing software and open the file that is saved to the audio temp file that bears the same name as the file in the editing screen.
3. From that point the problems begin as I mentioned earlier.

If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. I'm really greatful for all the help from the members of this forum!

I'll try but just going off what I have read and think how I would go about it.

1) Try splitting the audio from the video, the ensuing action will leave the sound file in the sound track. Move this up to the narration track this frees up the sound track to use from the CD. Before inserting the CD music check the properties of the audio from the video and if it isn't in WAV format...go to Share/create sound file. You can then convert this to wav file in audacity if needed. Bring it back into the time line one track on narration the other on Sound. The idea being they are both wav format files

2) Almost answered this above...go to share/creat audio file. Audacity should recognise the audio file

Please refrain from hijacking other posters topics. Your problem is totally different to the OP's and should be placed in a new thread.

Before you go and post the same nonsense again please make sure you state some necessary detail. How does one take some video and connect it to the PC ?????? 8) And what does a PlayStation have to do with VS?
