Copying video filters to other clips

Post by david_k_jordan »

OK, stupid question that has probably been asked a lot. How can I copy a video filter that I have placed on one image to all of the other images in my slide show...

EXAMPLE...
I have 500 images in my slide show and I want all of them to pan & zoom (video filter PAN & ZOOM). I put this filter on one image, now I would like to replicate that to all of the images in the slide show...how can I do this without having to go through all of the images separately?

One of the limitations of this software (see the Wish List near the top of the forum) is the inability to save or copy filter properties.

Thank you for the quick reply...I think I have figured a work around for this...it is round about, but can be done...simply opne Ulead VS 11, then choose the wizard, not the actual editor...then pick whatever images you would like in your project, then choose any template (if you find one you like select it...you can remove it later).
The select the properties icon (looks like a little page with a cog on it)...the Smart Pan & Zoom is located here. In some of the pre generated templates, this Smart Pan & Zoom is automatically selected, but if the template does not select it, you can do so here...now simply finish out the projectand then instead of creating a burna-able disc, simple edit it in VS 11 editor, you can now make any changes you like and remove all of the template stuff you dont like...but now all of your images have the Pan & Zoom on them, this will save tons of time if you want to add Pan & Zoom on all of your images. If you have further questions on how I did this, or if you have an easier way I would love to hear it.

A short time ago this same topic was brought up - using the Wizard and the Smart Pan and Zoom.

Let me preface by saying I have never used the Wizard, so maybe I am missing something. But I don't understand the point of applying the Smart Pan and Zoom, then going back into the Editor and making changes or adjustments to the images/clips. Why not just use the Editor in the first place? :?

Great question...because, say for instance I have 500 images that I want to add to a project...if I want smart pan & zoom to be applied to all of them at once, rather than having to go to each one and selct it, I would use the wizard to apply it to all images at once...I have not found a way to do this in the actual editor...and like I said before...I may be missing something, but if so please relay it here and I will integrate it for future use.

Mr. Amigo, you nailed it! That is exactly where I got this information, this works great...and if you need to do further editing you can simply just do it in the editor after you have chosen the Smart Pan & Zoom

So are the pan and zooms on each clip identical?

No, th are random, which I think adds an interesting effect to your presentation...personally I prefer it...I think you can edit the transistion of the Pan & Zoom right where you can choose for it to be there, or you can do it the long way to ensure it pans the way you like by adding the pan in the editor and controlling every aspect of ho the pan & zoom works...up to you, more detail=more time...

Check this link out, I actually just bought this a couple days ago, and was very impressed.. click the VS9 stuff, and click the demo video. Even if you have the later versions, all the demo projects will load and play in your current VS version (9..10..11) etc. http://www.getting-results.com/

That's what I was trying to get to. As was asked in another thread, how smart is Smart Pan and Zoom? How does it know what to pan and zoom on? How does it know not to zoom in on my big nose?

I believe this is the book by Charlie Hills...good stuff in there...I read it...I really wish Mr. Hill would start up again, I think I read somewhere he was burned out and taking a break...to bad for us...I certainly agree that this book is a good one to read.
