Problem installing Retail vers. WinDVD 8 Gold (error 1904)

Hello.

I recently purchased a copy of WinDVD 8 Gold at Fry's Electronics and have not been able to install it on my computer. They will not let me bring it back since the box was opened, so I am determined to get this thing figured out.

I tested the demo version of the same software which I downloaded off the Ulead website, and it works fine. There was also a mention of the same error I am having (error 1904). They recommended to download a new version of the program, which I did, and then activate it with my serial number. But here is the problem, I have to have purchased it online for that fix to work, since I have to prove my credit card info, etc.

I need a way to make the retail version work, or a way to convince Fry's to give me my money back so that I can buy the online version of the program. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I think you should contact Corel Tech Support directly, skip the Fry's....
