This program worked fine last year. I taped 17 soccer games, captured, edited and produced 17 dvd's for our high school. I tried to download our first game this year and received the following error message:
Untitled Ulead Video Studio 8.0: vstudio.exe-application error
The instruction at "0x73ddllc7" referenced memory at "0x00000004"
could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program.
I thought that somthing was corrupted in the operating system (Win XP pro) so I did a system restore which restored the computer to the same condition as when it came out of the box from Dell (XPS Gen 4/ Pent4/3.84 with 1 gb ram) ran all the windows updates and deleted the virus protection software as I will install Norton once I get Video Studio 8 working. I contacted Corel tech support and the first tech sent me instructions (16 steps) to do a clean install. After following the instructions and installing Video Studio 8 the program still crashes. Recontacted tech support and they told me to try online forums as the product is not supported anymore. Please help!

Video studio 8 crashes

What format are your video files? Is this the same camera you used last year? All of my crashes have been caused by "bad" video files. In every case my files played-back fine, but it was the particular file(s) causing it to crash.I tried to download our first game this year and received the following error message...
The more compressed the format, the more likely you are to have trouble.
