Converting from VHS tape to avi, the avi is much darker

When I convert from VHS tape to DV/AVI in Ulead Videostudio 11+, the end result is much darker then the original.

Am using Canopus ADVC-110 capture box, and computer with plenty of speed and memory, and plenty of storage. The quality is fine just a darker picture in the video conversion.

Things worked better under Videostudio 10+.

Also, Moviefactory 6+ trying to do the conversion crashes the computer at the rendering stage.

It worked in Moviefactory 5+.

Any help?
