Problem with burned DVD's

Post by instantlegend »

I am having trouble making DVD's that work in my DVD players. I have read multiple posts on here about this problem. I have been burning at 4x and my drive doesn't have any firmware updates. I am using Verbatim DVD-R discs. I am using Video Studio.

I burned on project to DVD's about 3 times with all the same results. It played for a while on my Pioneer DVD player, but would adventually get stuck and I couldn't play get it to play past that point. I tried to play it in my Toshiba DVD player and it was unable to even load the menu. All 3 copies did the same thing.

Yesterday I burned a DVD from another project and the Pioneer player gave me an error that said unable to read disc and didn't even load the menu. I stuck it in the Toshiba DVD player and it played ok.

This makes no sense. Any help would be appreciated.

If you could explain the process with how you create your DVD's we might be able to perhaps pin point a problem. Like, what options are you choosing from when you click on "Share"?

On first thought I was going to say you have a bad batch of DVD's but Verbatim are usually reliable.

Will your disks play on your burner? If they don't play, your burner might be bad. Try doing your project without menus and see if it will play.

You also haven't told us if you have had prior success with burned DVDs on these players. If not, it could be a compatibility issue - see this compatibility list.

The DVD's all play fine in my pc.

I have had some bruns that worked fine in the Pioneer DVD player, but won't work in the Toshiba. The one I burned yesterday is the only one I have ever had work on the Toshiba player. This Toshiba DVD player is brand new.

I am burning the DVDs from ISO images I made back in January.
