Remove a selection window in PI 12

I'm trying out the demo of PI 12. Apparently, I saved a selection window in my file (see pic 1) and now I can't get rid of it. Hitting Esc doesn't do anything. I can move the window but it leaves a grey shaded area of where it used to be (see pic 2) and creates another one where I drop it.

How can I get rid of this?

Selecting the window and hitting delete worked. I thought I tried that earlier to no avail.

Anyway, problem solved.
