WinDVD trial version not working

Hi, I'm very new to the dvd thing but am keen to persue. I love makingDVD's of footage taken from my on-board camera on my motor cycle. have been using a trial vesion of WinDvd 3 platinum to see if it is suitable but cannot get any image appear on the screen when replaying on TV (but works on PC). Naturally I am reluctant to purchase this software if it oes not seem to do the job
Can anyone help, what am I doing wrong. It seems easy enough to use. I ave set it up in the wizard.
Also, is this a suitable product or is there something better I can be using
So far I have just wasted a lot of time (a real lot of time).
