Strange sound file behaviour, MSP7.30.0003

Post by Belgian Videast »

Hello everybody,

When I import sound clips for background music (mp3 files @ 224kbps or higher), these files are systematically longer then they are supposed to be, for example : a file of a 3 minutes duration, last for 4 to 5 minutes when dragged onto the timeline; when played, the file is ok during its 3 minutes length, but since it is longer on the timeline, there are several repetitions of the end of the song.

I also noticed that when the bitrate is larger than 224 kbps, each time there is an interruption in the video stream (cut between two scenes, but no free space between the scenes), the background sound (not the sound that comes with the video, but additional sound) is interrupted for a split second and then resumes some tenth's of a second before the point where interrupted.

Using 128 kbps mp3 files solves both problems, but I intend my DVD's for a high end Home Theather, so higher bitrates offer a much better sound reproduction.

Does anyone of you come across this issue ?

Thanks and best regards to all
