Very difficult to ascertain what has caused this error.
Firstly were you creating a video file (to hard disk) or burning direct to DVD?
If burning direct to disk the error could be associated with a problem encountered writing to DVD. In this case I would suggest creating the movie to hard disk (uncheck Create To Disk and check either Create Dvd Folders or Create Disc image). If the error goes away then it must have been associated with burning to DVD. You can now create (burn) your DVD using a DVD burning tool such as Nero or Ashampoo.

All we know is that you have VS11, use XP and have a problem. We know nothing about the video that went into the project, the properties you used, let alone the work process you followed. It is almost impossible in such circumstances to offer an assistance.
Please provide the above information, plus a description of your computer.
That being said, you might want to cancel any animation of your menu on the second page of the menu creation and on the Edit tab there. For some unknown reason, it is set by default to no animation on Menu In (towards the bottom left of screen) but the Menu Out has animation. I personally have had problems with this, though not your error message. But other people have had a variety of problems with this wretched menu animation. So try disabling it and see if your problem persists.

Hello,
Yes I used my Vivitar DVR 3-10 Camcorder to take all the clips, but for one clip I used Hyper Cam 2. (Maybe this is the problem) My PC make is a Sony Vaio (Not sure on the model, but have had it since 2003)
Dan.

Hello,
I have the same issue burning a DVD from any DV/AVI recording made through a ADS-555 Pyro box connected to my sony Viao. Aftger numerous call to ATS and Ulead, they are pointing at the codec associated with the recorded video. Using AVIcodec software to identify the codec shows it a something like "SonyVideo". BOth ATS and ULEAD point to this as the problem causing the error which also sometimes displays as "unknown codec" depending on which method you try to burn the DVD and which version V9, V10, or V11 of videostudio you are attempting to use. BOth companies recommended installinghte DivX codec and "using" it instead of the sony codec. Well, installation is easy. Wht I don;'t get is how to specify which codec is used when making a new recording.
