I received VideoStudio 9se bundled with my DVDXpressDX2 hardware for converting VHS tapes to DVD. I used the VideoStudio app for a few weeks without issue. However, now when I launch the app, I receive the following error: "Unable to switch to capture mode. Check if your video capture driver is working properly. The live connection cannot be initialized. There might be a hardware detection problem or the correct capture drive cannot be located."
I have checked to see that my hardware is working properly.....it is.
I have checked to see if the drivers are up to date....they say they are.
I have done clean uninstalls, reinstalls, restarts, etc.
any suggestions?
thanks.

FWIW, I have started getting the same message in VS11+ loaded on a Vista Home Premium computer, though I have not yet worked out a solution.
However, you have not told us anything about your computer set up (see your System button) or even your computer operating system, or whether you have recently done anything new to your computer by way of new hardware or software which might possibly conflict.
My understanding of the DX2 was also that you are supposed to use the other Adstech software which came with it (CapWiz) to capture from the device, and then use VS9SE to edit it.
