studio ver 11 plus: (trying)
After I edit golfers, I'm getting double clubs etc. I realize this is caused by the ntsc frame system. I have tried various codecs, I have., they all have the same fault.
How can I convert my edited videos to a progressive scan?
I'm a registered owner of 9.4. It does not show the same fault.
Win xp sp2, 2 gig memory, amd 2100
Deinterlace or Progressive scan (source video dvd camera)

I'm not sure it's caused by the ntsc frame rate, otherwise how would they show golf on tv in USA?
I suspect it may be due to incorrect frame order.
You need to give much more info though,
Start at the beginning and finish at the end.
What was the source file properties
what did you do to it
what did you save as
what were the editing app properties
what the final settings used?
What are you watching on?

Video file copied to my comp from camera via usb. (no properties available). This then imported ino vs11+. I took a two minute item and removed some of the material. I then shared the vdeo and audio to an avi file with various codecs. Dv encoder type 2 avi
frame rate 29 frames per sec, video sample 24 bit, video compresson MC_Dvd. These are videos of golf swings,
Yes, I know North America uses NTSC to show video.
I'm using various progams to play this video, scene by scene, frame or frame, field or field. V1 swing analysis, even shows problem with Media player classic.
In the movement of the golf swing when videoed, the golfer and club has moved from one field to the next. When this video is played it looks like the arms and golf club have duplicates slightly removed in time.
Answer to the last question, I would like to see the video without delayed duplicates (movement)

What is the Model of your video camcorder? This is a video camcorder correct and not a "Camera". If it's a camcorder what setting did you record in, Standard mode, high quality mode.Video file copied to my comp from camera via usb.
What you posted as the properties doesn't look correct. This would be the cause of your problem.

camera and other info update
Hitachi dz-mv270a (dvd camera)
file on computer directly copied from camera IFO file. Largest file MPEG file.
I am trying ver 11 plus. With any and every codec I have tried or used WFM format, the problem continues. Support hasnt replied. I have tried presets of frame. lower field first, upper field first. etc.
Sports analysis SW say: Ideally, you NEVER want to use any MPEG format to save a video you intend to edit or view frame by frame. MPEG is designed for distribution, not for further editing. Try saving your files in an "open" format such as MotionJPEG or DV-AVI format.
I presently use VS 9., in spite of it being MPEG format, I edit down the video and share it in WFM format. It plays correctly without problems.
Thanks for your further suggestions.

Joe,
The videos made by your camcorder are UFF (Upper Field First). Unless you do it correctly playing them back on a computer can be very hard to reproduce the exact golf swing. This is because the cam (all cams by the way) record in interlaced format. If you make them frame_based or progressive they will look worse.
They will look good on a television but not so good on a computer screen.
I think your best bet for the computer is to use the windows WMV format, and use standard defintion frame sizes along with telling Movie maker to use the interlaced format. Then windows media player will de-interlace them (blend or interpolate the fields) to look pretty good on the computer.
So just use windows movie maker to convert he mpeg files.
You should be importing the videos from your camcorder in mpeg format. They should have the mpg extension. You shouldn't be copying any other named files to the computer. It may work but it's not the correct method.
Good luck with your golfing.
