How to back up the Media Library?

Post by KenM2112 »

Hi Group,

I'd like to back up the media library in case of a crash or to clear it for future projects, but can't seem to find the file. Would anyone know where it is, and what it is named?

All you have to do is access the media library in the production library window, and then right-click your mouse - this will give you a "save" dialog (along with "create", "load" and a few other options). You can then save the resulting .gal file to the location of your choice.

If you want to reload this information back into the media library at a later time, you can use the "load" dialog, accessed from the same place.

I hope this helps...

Thanks Asande. I'm guessing this is a feature in rev. 6.5 or 7? Currently I'm using version 6 - might have to upgrade!

This is in version 7. Perhaps someone else can comment on previous versions - this is the only version I've used...

Another tip;

In;

C:\Documents and Settings\<your account>\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro\7.0\

are the following files;

Afilter.rsa (Audio filter library)
Vfilter.rsf (Video Filter library)
Movepath.gal (Moving Path library)
EFFBAS.TEG (Transition effect library)

Back these up and you can retain your custom effects between reinstallations.
