No audio

I have Pictureshow 3. I attached a video clip and when I preview it the sound is not there and all I hear is a clicking sound over and over again. What is going on?

I have both cd/ DVD pictureshow 3 and Video Studio 11. I am having the same problem with both. When I attach a video clip and burn the show to disc all I hear is this awful screeching sound!!! The videos are in Quick Time. My operating system is Windows XP. What can I do to fix this?
