Auto Music/Smart sound

Post by goddardweb »

Help - I have recently installed vidstudio 8, when I go into auto music there is no library listed, should they be installed seperately :?: And if so where from?
Thanks

How did you obtain UVS V8? Is it the trial version, a boxed version, or the ESD (Electronic Software Download) version?

The trial doesn't include SmartSound, period. The ESD version includes it as a separate download that must be installed. The boxed version includes it on CD.

Auto music etc

It is the boxed version, I had problems with the install, it hung when it was trying to install quicktime.

I have tried to uninstall but cannot do it from add/remove an error message comes up.

I think everything else is ok, but was concerned about no files in the auto music library.

Thanks

Hi

You should be able to install Smart Sound from your disc.
Browse the disc for the Smart Sound folder.

Reinstall the two .exe files

Quicktracks and Full Spectrum 22k.

It’s a bit worrying that you cannot uninstall.

There are details on the ulead web pages under FAQ’s under installation / download
http://www.ulead.co.uk/tech/vs/vs80faq.htm

Hope this helps

Make sure also that you have a recent version of Quicktime installed.

I am pleased to see somebody else has this identical problem.I purchased the box version last week loaded the discs and also found that the music is not in the library. I posted the problem on this site received some helpful advice but was unable to resolve the problem. I have the latest quicksound version the music is in the smart sound library but will not appear under the auto music. The discs have even been reloaded.Any more suggestions.

Thanks everybody for your help.

I checked whether Quicktime had installed and it hadn't - i did mention it hung at this point but did think it had installed in the end, but it hadn't just shows how wrong you can be!

Checked indeo that was in OK, spectrum went in again (not sure if it was there all ready!) Quicktracs.exe said it was already installed. Still nothing.

Then I tried making a quick movie in 'movie wizard' took up option on last page to edit in videostudio editor, and I assume because the wizard inserts a quicktrac it started to load the spectrum library in and hey presto I now have the quicktracs working!

I hope this may help the other person who had the same problem as me!

Thanks again everybody - computers who'd have 'em!! :D

I had the same problem and fixed it by downloading and installing quicktime first
