how to convert real media (*.rm )video to avi/mpeg

Post by mallikar »

I have some video in rm format. VS11 is not able to recognize this media. How to convert the rm to AVI/mpeg? I have couple of questions on this.

1. Do I need install any drivers/software to use VS11 to read this type of format?

2. If VS11 doesn't supports, what are the best ways of converting the .rm files to .avi/mpeg?

Thanks & Regards

I'm not sure about question 1, but there are many programmes hich will convert it to avi or mpeg. I'd be careful about avi, as this is just a wrapper and can contain mnay file types which may not work with VS, so maybe go for mpeg2.

SUPER is a FREE "all-purpose" converter. I've never tried an RM file with it, but it claims to convert from RM to many other formats. (Apparently, it cannot convert to RM.)

SUPER is a "strange" program, and it uses unlicensed codecs, but it's got me out of a jam a couple of times.
