Three questions about creating and animating titles

Post by perfection »

Question one
If I have two text boxes of different content and formatting, can i animate these two elements ONE AFTER THE OTHER using seperate animation styles? Is there any way to have time control of this i.e decide when the second element will dipsplay?

I am aware that i can put all the text into one text box and chanbge the fonts and colours and then set the animation property as display by the line (or even word) but what will happen is that one anuimation wiill apply to the entire box contents (that is each line)

Question two
What is the best way to introduce an object into a title? I only see the possibility of creating single and multiple text fields. Suppose i have the title My Zoo and i wish to add three seperate pictures of animals suxh as tigers, elephants and zebras.

Question three
Is there a way to comtrol the time (in seconds) of an animation flow to determine delay of appearance of each line or letter or is it just one ofter the other dependant on the pause interval and the duration of the title?

Answer one
Yes, you can apply separate animations to each text box (make sure you choose Multiple Titles on the Edit tab). However, because they are part of the same title clip you can't control the time they start/stop, only the duration of the pause, fade, etc.

Yes, the animation will be applied to whatever is in the text box. For different animations you will need separate text boxes.

Answer two
I'm not sure what you mean by "introduce an object into a title". The title track is virtually an overlay track. It will overlay the video or stills in any of your tracks. You can stretch the title to any length you wish, or you can copy it and use it multiple times.
Question three
Is there a way to comtrol the time (in seconds) of an animation flow to determine delay of appearance of each line or letter or is it just one ofter the other dependant on the pause interval and the duration of the title?
Answer three
Again, if the multiple titles are in the same title clip then, no, you can't really control the time of appearance. You can only control the animation duration.

I agree, just not enough control of multiple titles. Multiple title tracks would be a nice addition to v12.

Answer two:

The way I think I would approach that is to create titles with objects/images in jpeg format and use them in the overlay tracks. Mask the background off and you have titles with objects
