ulead videostudio plus, recently downloaded - please help

have tried unistalling and reinstalling several times
on opening the program i get the following dialogue box:
ulead videostudio has stopped working. a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

i have tried checking the vista device manager and everything is working correctly.
have tried downloading codec packages.

help me please, been trying all day

Sorry. This is not a response to your query. It is merely a message from me in my role as Moderator. First, you were immensely unwise to post your serial number in full in your message. I have edited your post to remove it. There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there -- not to mention trawler programs -- which could make good use of such a number.

Second, in terms of net etiquette, typing a message all in Capital letters is equivalent to SHOUTING and is considered rude.

Now, hopefully someone will have something substantive to suggest regarding your problem...

My only other comment is that you should avoid codec packs like the plague, unless you are after one specific codec and only download that from the pack. Otherwise, they more often than not cause more problems than they are worth.

I also assume that you have tried downloading the main program file again, and that when installing, you also installed the second (Extra Content) file.
