Hi Guys
I've been working on a business presentation and I've had a bucketload of problems (maybe of my making). My settings are:
PAL (25 fps)
Video tracks: 7
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 4:3, 25 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- PAL, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
1. Originally I was going to have some video clips but ended up with titles and picture so my first question is should I have used the setting for Presentations at 25fps Indeo video 5.11?
2. One majorly irritating problem has been trying to line-up some pictures of colleagues. I've set it with their job title above their image and their name below. I used the 'Y' 3d moving path to spin them in and set two key frames to make them stay static for a few seconds before spinning away. On the preview - either full or instant they lined up perfectly but when I output to MPeg2 they were seriously out of alignment (all off to the right) and they had lost their dimensions! When I imported the images I checked the keep aspect ratio and I did the same in the moving path. I tried re-importing without the aspect checked and applying the moving path without checking keep aspect ratio there. I tried new dimensions but it was always the same - perfect in preview but up the perverbial when I started output. Eventually I tried another moving path which worked but did not have the punchy effect I was after.
3. For a reasonably straight forward project, it's taken me all weekend. I kept getting errors and crashes and I had a major crash that wouldn't allow me to open the project again at one stage nor a back-up I'd saved under a different name! I managed to open an earlier back-up and rebuilt from there - the joys of NLE.
Any advice would be welcome.

1. No!
2. Is there any reason why you chose to use MP on the titles, rather than the inbuilt animations, which can pretty well be adjusted to do anything? Have you tried it with Keep aspect ratio unchecked on the title (it should not be necessary)?
3. What are the state of your partitions?

I apologise if I'm about to sound a real thickie but I'm not sure what you mean by in-built animations? When I import all I can change is aspect ratio or duration there are no other options. I've always used MP on my still images because that's the only obvious control I see when I right click on the imported image or in the tools. Am I missing something obvious??
My HDD is 1 C drive NTFS 279GB with 207GB free. My defrag anaylysis is saying it doesn't need one at the moment.

Re HDD: see your other thread. This is a possible cause of problems.
I assume you are using the titler to bring in names/functions. This has an infinite variety of animation possibilities.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the replies - the core day job kinda got in the way since Monday.
Devil, I'm using the titler to put the person's job description at the top and a separate second title at the bottom with their name (I use the moving path in the title animations so their job and names slide on to the screen and off). Then I imported their pictures and used the 'Y'3D MP so their actual images twirled on to the screen and stopped inbetween their job and name titles before twirling off the other side. In instant and full preview, all three eliments move onto the screen and line up vertically perfectly but when I output as an MPEG2 they fell out of alignment and the pictures were stretched (I tried all the combinations of aspect ratio on/ off).
Yes, Gorf and Troppo, I thought it could be something to do with 16:9 but I've checked all the settings and its all OK at 4:3. Once I used the 'Size' 2D MP it output fine to MPEG2 . But later when I output from my DVP project as an MP4 'You Tube' sized video, the alignment dropped off again (though not as bad as with the 3D MP and the image size ratios stayed the same). When I used the MPEG2 as the basis for the MP4 it was fine.
Any ideas guys? Am I trying too many moving paths at once?

If you do a single title, you can use different animation techniques for each line of text.
