In the first minute of my current video (rugby world cup highlights package) I have a black background with music and occassional text appearing. Sort of just building the mood for the rest of the video. I decided it would be a good idea if I added sound clips from the video but with no actual video (for example good lines from the commentators). This is easy, split the audio from video and delete the video. What is troubling me is when I play the whole thing back the seperated sound clip is quieter for the first half second than the rest of that same clip. So basically you can only hear the commentator from the second word onwards. Hugly frustrating!

Please Help!!! Playing video audio over music track...
Hi,
In the first minute of my current video (rugby world cup highlights package) I have a black background with music and occassional text appearing.
Does anyone have a reason for this? How can I fix it? I've looked at the sound and it is all on the same level for the entire clip The music track also plays fine when playing in tandem with the sound clip. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks but I'm afraid that's not it. Maybe you can try it on your machine as a test? Put a music track on as well as a black base clip. Then put the audio from a video clip in. In order to hear the audio over the music, in "audio view" I put the video audio to maximum (i.e. make sure the blue line is right at the top. You'll notice for the first half second (maybe less) it is quiet then suddely goes to the right level. If you can't fix or establish the problem. What is another way to have video audio over the music track? Thanks again. This is a big part of my current video and it's annoying me hugely that I can't figure it out!!!

Try lowering the level of the music track, so the other audio doesn't have to be at the max level. Then maybe you can raise the level of the audio clip for the second or two that it's dropped out.
