Hi,
I just downloaded the full version of MF6 and installed it. Things seemed to go well and the installation finished after an automatic restart of my system.
But then I noticed that all of the shortcuts in the program folder are pointing to a "My Product Name" folder instead of the "Ulead DVD Moviefactory 6" folder. The icons for the shortcuts were blank too, and Windows couldn't find the application paths.
What the.... It seems as though something in the installation program forgot to substitute "Ulead DVD Moviefactory 6" for a pathname somewhere.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks,
Big Al Mintaka

Hi Ron P,
Actually there is nothing wrong with my profile. I just uninstalled MF6 and tried again. That time nothing was put in a "My Program Name" folder.
I noticed a difference on the second installation. I was prompted to provide the serial number for MF6 and the serial number for the product I was upgrading - which is MF3. The first time around neither of those prompts appeared.
I checked the Documents and Settings folder and found the MF6 Application Data right where it should be, in the latter folder. To be on the safe side I also searched my hard drive for a "My Product Name" folder and found none.
???? Beats me, the only thing I did different was uninstall and re-install the program.
Only problem is, there were other errors in this installation. When it got to installing
AVControlSDK
I kept getting
Internal Failure
Error Number 0x80040707
When I clicked on "OK" in this prompt, the program just kept looping around this error.
I managed to click on "Cancel" in the "Installing AVControlSDK" between errors and this at least got me out of the loop. Then the install program told me it was done and asked for permission to restart the system.
Something isn't right here. Have you heard of this type of error before?
I'm going to bump this one up to a new thread because the topic is different than the one I started with....
Thanks,
Big Al Mintaka
