Problem with DV to DVD scan

Hi all

New to UVS 11 plus and to editing etc on the whole. Just purchased UVS 11.0 and currently using USB streaming with sony hc 90.

Strangely, when I launch UVS and click DV to DVD wizard option, the screen that appears shows all fields DE-HIGHLIGHTED. I can neither capture video, nor change format, nor anything else.

In the movie maker option, however, I can capture video from my handicam. Tried everything but nothing is working.

Was wondering if some one will kindly help.

Someone else who has a HiDef camera might jump in here. I don't have one. However, it is my understanding that the DV-to-DVD function only works when using firewire to capture DV in its native format. Firewire was, after all, developed specifically to capture and transfer DV in its original format and quality.

In other words, it is almost undoubtedly not available when you are using USB as you are doing...

However, as I say, I know nothing about HD cameras in general, or yours in particular, so it might be something completely different in your case...

I have already ordered online the capture card and firewire cable. It will reach me Monday or Tuesday. Will try that and report back.
