Video Studio 11 Plus does not recognise my DVD Burner
I'm really stuck
In Create Disc I want to Burn my movie but the Disc Player is greyed out with No Drive and Disc Type says Empty. My burner is a Pioneer DVR 112 single layer 18x burner and I'm using Verbatim disks. Have tried other make of disk same result. I have reinstalled Video Studio a couple of times but same result and now I can't use the Auto Music which is all greyed out! I also tried making an iso file which was sucessful and then importing it to Create Disc but it still would not burn! I have also uninstalled Nero 7 to see if that makes a difference but it didn't. I asked Corel Tech advice who suggested uninstalling Nero and reinstalling Video Studio 11 Plus, but no luck so far! Is this a Windows Vista thing? Has anyone any suggestions please. My computer spec is on my profile. Thankyou

If you have made an ISO file of your project, then you don't use 'Create Disc' to burn it. You have to use the quite separate module VCD DVD Disc Image Burner which should be included in the install package. Enter that term in your Vista menu search.... (Unfortunately, I cannot at present confirm that it is indeed in the usual VS11 package as I am currently away from home and do not have VS11 installed on this computer...)
The other alternative would be to reinstall Nero and use the DVD > Backup > Burn Image to Disc command. Point Nero at your ISO file and it should proceed to burn it to DVD. If Nero actually burns the ISO file, then that would suggest that it is indeed VS11 which is the source of your problem. If not, then there is some other conflict on your computer.
By the way, you don't need to uninstall the whole Nero package. All that you have to worry about with Nero is the InCD module which takes control of your burner and denies access to it to other programs like VS11. But InCD no longer installs by default. You would have had to make a conscious decision to install it as part of the overall Nero package by doing a Custom install and ticking the InCD box.
Other packet-writing software may also do the same thing. The Roxio suite module does the same thing as InCD, but at least the Roxio module can be internally disabled without having to uninstall it.

Video Studio 11 does not recognise my DVD Burner
Thankyou for such a prompt reply!
I took your advice and used Nero Burning Rom to burn the iso file to Disk with great success
The DVD Burner was not recognised by Ulead Disc Image Recorder either so it looks like the problem is pointing to VS 11.
InCD was not installed by default in Nero 7 as you said.
I'm also having a problem with ripping music to the timeline because of VS11 not recognising my burner and the Auto Music is greyed out.
I've only had VS11 a couple of months, is it worth me talking to Corel about this software problem?
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

Not sure I can help with ripping music. I never use VS for that. Instead I use third party programs, like Windows Media Player. Then I make further adjustments to the captured music with a third party audio editor. In my case, I use Nero's Wave Editor, but a lot of people use the freeware program Audacity.
Just be aware that if you use Nero to rip your discs, and do so using the mp3 format, Nero uses the LameMP3 codec, and this is known to cause a problem in VS. In those cases, we recommend you convert to the standard .wav format instead.
As for Automusic, did you actually install that part of the package? I have the download version of VS11+ and just happen to have reinstalled it yesterday on my own Vista Home Premium machine. If I recall correctly, it was in the Extra_Content file, and not the main program file. I am not sure where it might be if you have the full boxed version on CD, though it could be on CD2.
