DV uses a Microsoft .AVI container, so the videoinfoheader2 structure applies also for DV. I digged somewhat further, and you are right Ken: DV is LFF for Pal and NTSC. The only thing is that in the video timing standards, upper and lower field definitions for PAL and NTSC are different : Field 1 starts after an even number of half lines after the start of the vertical sync , while Field 1 in PAL starts after an uneven number of half lines after the vertical sync. So by using LFF and UFF there is no difference between BG(PAL) and NTSC, but if "Field one/two first" or "Field orderA/B" is used, then Pal and NTSC would have opposite field order specs.

Clear as mud.
I capture to Dv-Avi, I cannot change my captured field order, I get what¡¦s in the camera, is that a problem.
Don¡¦t answer that.
Only when I capture from analogue source:-
If I use the wrong field order I get fuzzy video, I change the order, I only have one option, now its all ok.
I can live with that, next time I get it right.
