Third-party or External Software with .vsp files.

Post by PuzZLeR »

Greetings,

I use VideoStudio's .vsp files... ALOT. Very useful and helpful indeed over the years. Batching is the way to go with video rendering/encoding/etc. IMO.

I was wondering if these files have any use outside of VideoStudio? I don't own any of the other Ulead products, or if they are accepted there too, but I was thinking outside of any Ulead products.

Applications like AVISynth have "scripts" that you can load into other apps. You can feed frames to encoders, etc. this way. It would be nice to do something like this VideoStudio without some extensive knowledge on frame-servers, etc.

For example, I don't mind the fact that VideoStudio doesn't encode to H.264 (effectively) as of yet, but instead of loading MPEG-2 files from VS to other apps, it would be convenient to feed the .vsp file directly.

My question isn't about H.264 really. My question is whether or not these .vsp files work anywhere else that anyone knows of, or can be "rigged", or are they just a Ulead item?

Thanks for reading.

PS: VS generates alot of .upd files as well when I encode directly and I wonder about those too if they can be useful. Don't know what they do, never used them and always delete them. I would ask about those too, but they are only generated after the file is rendered - which defeats the purpose of this topic's question...

VSP files are just the instructions for VS; i.e. use these clips with these titles and these transitions, etc. They will not work with other products.

I thank you for your answer nevertheless. It was a nice thought though. :D
