Dammit, if you don't tell us what you are doing, how you capture and from what etc., how do you expect us to know what is going on? Clairvoyance is not a required attribute of members here.

If it is in the overscan area, does it matter?

hehe, Devil, you have such a short fuse :D
Cyprusx, you can try cropping your image slightly. I think there is a crop video filter. I normally just use the moving path to expand the size so it disappears off the bottom of the screen.
Oh, yeah, it would actually be quite helpful if you try to include as much detail as you can, seeing as video editing can be quite complicated with a myriad of things to go wrong!

Maybe he does- but don't knock it: I've started ignoring a whole bunch of stuff that I might be able to help with, simply because the poster hasn't given enough (reasonable) info or hasn't bothered searching. At least Brian is pointing people in the right direction, even if they occasionally do feel the rough end of his temper.

Yes Gorf, you are right.
And if you read my post you will see I said the same thing. Just a little less 'abrupt'.
I was new on here once, and needed help, not reprimands.

I think that's true of everyone - but didn't we all make best efforts to give the info about what we are trying to do, or what we are trying to do it on? Even if it's not common sense, we should not realistically have to say we need info more than once.

true, but perhaps some people need a bit more persuasion than others Anyway, I've always found to achieve much better results with tact and diplomacy ie. Steve's post.

Hi Guys
A timely reminder to someone that asks the odd dumb question and I have taken note to include more details. I did try to include my OS profile in my signature below so people didn't have to look up my profile all the time but there's not enough space, which is a shame.

I do go through the manuals but they are a bit abstract at times and don't demonstrate what they are talking about (to someone who's a PA consultant and not a PC techie) or why a certain feature is useful or not and what the implications are. So before posting I do try a search but the search engine is not very sophisticated and my search terms end up with either nothing or the everthing from the web board.

IMHO If Corel could provide a better search engine or if there was separate tips 'n' tricks page a whole lot of dumb or repeated questions could be eradicated.
Thanks & regards.

Hi Steve
Many thanks - I just wonder if Corel could get a version that offered a better search facility.

I do my best to build as much info as possible as well as using some of the links you suggested (your pages in particular are helpful - thanks in general). When I find good tutorials or tips ,wherever they are, I save them into a tutorial folder in my favourites (You Tube have some good video tutorials - in fact a lot of other applications run video tutorials as standard except Ulead/ Corel; perhaps Corel could run a video tutorial tricks 'n' tricks competition to address this?)

For the purpose of this site I was just thinking in terms or organising the info under headings - e.g. Best quality settings tips, matte tutorials/ tips, etc which are a bit different from the normal technical posts, such as 'HELP MSP8 just crashed the worldwide web' type questions. Having said that I get the feeling the people that would have to organise that are volunteers rather than Corel staff (so I'll keep my thoughts to myself).

However, on checking out the General Page, I did complete my 'who are you?' entry.
Thanks & regards.
